CourseWhat is a Bilingual class?

The International Kindergarten class, which aims to help kids become completely bilingual by the time they go up to elementary school, is a *pre-school for foreign or Japanese children who study English five days a week in the same way as their mother tongue. We aim at rearing “bilingual infants” by the age of about six, which is the most important in language development under a thorough English environment. We believe “immersing in English” where everyday life itself is in English inspires children’s ability to learn the language thus acquiring true English skills. We have coherent programs for kids from 3 years old to elementary – school age, and they will move up from International Kindergarten with the aim of improving the skills. ※ Pre-school … Facility where childcare is given in English. In addition, Bilingual Monkey Giraffe class is registered as a local nursery program, (a non-authorized childcare facility). If the child enrolled in the bilingual class is a third child or later, childcare charges up to the age of 3 years can be subsidized. (Please contact Matsuyama City Hall for more information)

In the third year, teachers’ instructions become more sophisticated and challenging, so children can acquire more English skills correspondingly. Kids become more independent and sociable by this age. By learning conversation patterns including vocabulary and grammar and using them in various situations, children’s English ability will improve quickly. In class, students will use books according to their level and will build up their vocabulary as well as reading skills. In the Giraffe class, in accordance with the monthly theme, students learn various expressions in the activities and extracurricular classes. By incorporating a lot of extracurricular activities, kids can develop their vocabulary and expressions that they actually use outside the classroom.
